Basic German Course

Language level: A1 - A2/B1

This reading course uses the LSI.Digital learning platform and is targeted at learners of German with previous knowledge of the language at level A1. The aim of the course is to improve reading skills towards language level B1.

The course comprises a total of 20 thematic units with 120 texts and 600 exercises for text comprehension. Furthermore, the core basics of German grammar (morphology and sentence structure) are introduced and trained in receptive form with approx. 160 additional exercises. The course has about 140 grammar tables in which the essential phenomena of German grammar are presented.

Thematically, the course covers the following areas: Origin and family, acquaintances, everyday life and daily routines, studies, life in the city, vacations and travel, German language, social stereotypes, economy and trade, geography and ecology, politics and society, everyday and popular culture, customs and traditions, art and music, food and drink, working world, lifestyle and sports, media, science and technology, aspects of history, future prospects of Germany.
